How do the purification cycles work?

Shelfy operates through purification cycles. What does this mean? Its technology is not always active and alternates between periods of activity and inactivity on an hourly basis. This mode helps conserve battery power without compromising Shelfy’s effectiveness. So, if you don’t notice an immediate change in its operation, don’t worry: everything will adjust during the next purification cycle.

Since the environment inside your fridge is constantly changing, it’s important to take a long-term perspective to keep your food fresh for longer.

What are the features of the app?

Through the Vitesy Hub app you can access additional Shelfy features and enjoy the full experience:

  • Monitor the status of your fridge: track various parameters such as operating temperature, the number and timing of door openings, and the status of filter and fridge cleaning.
  • Choose from three different operating modes, based on your needs: Eco, Crisper, or Performance.
  • Receive maintenance notifications: get useful information about Shelfy’s filter and fridge maintenance, and be alerted whenever cleaning is needed. This ensures your fridge stays in top condition!

Why isn't baking soda enough?

Baking soda removes odors, but Shelfy offers much more: it extends the life and quality of food stored in the fridge by acting on ethylene, mold, and bacteria. Additionally, Shelfy features a smart component that monitors your fridge to help you maximize its performance.

How to wash the filter

To ensure maximum effectiveness, we recommend washing Shelfy's filter once a month. It's best to do it while Shelfy is charging, in this way it's easier to remember!

Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Remove the front shell (the white one with the battery) from the back shell (the gray one with the filter). While washing, keep the photocatalytic filter in its slot, handle the shells with clean hands and try to avoid touching the filter.
  2. Rinse the shell with the filter under running water for about 10 seconds, making sure to thoroughly wet the entire surface of the filter, but be careful not to pull it out of its slot.
  3. Dry the shell with a clean cloth, taking care not to touch the filter with the cloth.
  4. Remove any excess water inside the filter by gently shaking the shell while keeping the filter facing upward, being careful not to pull it out of its slot.
  5. Place the shell on a clean cloth, with the filter facing upward. It’s best to let the filter dry in sunlight to optimize drying.
  6. Drain any excess water and close the two shells again.

When washing the filter, we recommend wiping the front shell with a slightly dampened clean cloth, ensuring that Shelfy is not charging at that time.

In scientific studies conducted, Shelfy has shown the ability to extend the shelf-life of fruits and vegetables up to 12 days under specific conditions. It's important to note that this extension of shelf-life is influenced by various factors (such as, for example, product seasonality, pre-storage conditions, refrigerator characteristics, frequency of refrigerator door openings, correct product placement within the refrigerator, overcrowding with other products, refrigerator power fluctuations, etc.), and therefore, results may vary significantly. Consequently, it is not possible to provide guarantees of identical outcomes for all foods or situations. We recommend always following storage guidelines and not considering the product as a safeguard against foodborne illnesses or spoilage. Please remember that Shelfy acts on the air inside your refrigerator, not directly on the food.
